These are photos from my trip July 16-19 to Mississippi and Tennessee. On that trip, I visited Oxford, MS, home of William Faulkner, and Memphis, home of the blues. While in Memphis, I saw the Mississippi River for the first time and visited Beale St. The last dozen pictures are of the small town of Sparta, GA, which is entirely unremarkable, save that it served as the setting for a novel I have been working on in my dissertation (Jean Toomer's CANE). I hope you enjoy!

You are quite the photographer! Hope your conference went well. Meredith said you got to do some schmoozing. That's always fun.
