Happy New Year!

So, it's 2010- the year of waiting for our family, hopefully patiently! To recap, here's Evangeline last year on New Year's. At this point, she's sleeping in her pack-and-play bassinet in our room on her boppy in her sleep sack, with paci (not pictured), hat, and gloves. Whew!

And here's E this New Year's. Notice she's in her crib with her essentials: paci, sleep sack, and bunny.

Admittedly, we've been a little behind on toddler transitions for Evangeline, and we were talking over the list of them the other day, and we felt a little daunted for her!

1. No more pacis
2. No more sleep sacks
3. Sleep in toddler bed, then full size bed
4. No more bottles, cups only
5. Potty training
... and the list goes on- I'm sure I'm forgetting something! Some of these will probably be really easy, but others (lose the pacis?!) will be painful even for me. So, we decided we'd tackle them slowly one-by-one. We picked beginning with #3- the toddler bed. Evangeline is quite adept now at climbing and shown a lot of interest in sleeping in regular beds so we decided to do this first. We changed her crib with her, played in her new bed together, then put her to bed as usual that night. We were prepared to put her back into bed upwards of 50 times. Instead?

Here's before:

Approximately 15 minutes later, here's after:

No fussiness, stayed put the whole time, and slept (pretty much) as usual. Maybe this toddler thing will be easier than we think! (Ha ha! Yeah right!)

Crib looks cute as a bed.
